U15 Division Info

U15 Division 

Teams in the Sherwood Park U15 Division play in the Greater Edmonton Minor Softball Association (GEMSA). This provides our teams with the opportunity to experience play against a wider variety of teams.

The U15 Division will have weekly games in the GEMSA League. The U15 Division may also hold practices weekly in Sherwood Park.

Also available for the U15 Division is the Pitching Clinic beginning January. Additional fees apply.

Division Details

• Playing Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays
• Program Times: approx 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
• Program Structure: Games on designated playing days and additional practices scheduled weekly at the discretion of the coach. 
• Softball Field Location: Games are held in Edmonton and Sherwood Park. Playing location available on the team schedule.
• Players will be notified by coaches approximately 1 week prior to the season of team designation.  If you have not been notified after this timeframe please email U15rep@spmsa.com 
• All team schedules will be posted on the website under specific Age Divisions link.
• Each player will be issued a team jersey. Uniform Pick-up and Return dates for each team will be posted on the website (coaches will also provide information prior to the season).
• Required equipment: ball glove, softball pants (black), running shoes or softball cleats (no metal cleats),  batting helmet (with face mask/chin strap).

Rep (Competitive) Teams

Sherwood Park Softball Association is a community-based softball association.  We offer a community team (B team) and in addition, we will be providing an opportunity for girls to play at a more competitive level (A Rep team). The Sherwood Park Softball U15A team plays in the GEMSA league, the GPLS league which plays in four tournaments throughout  May and June, there are weekly or bi-weekly practices to be determined by the coaches, additional tournaments and Provincial Championships in early July with the possibility of Western in early August. Players and parents need to commit to attending these additional practices and be available to play in the month of July and possibly August.  Please see the home page for Evaluation times and locations.

Sherwood Park B teams also play in the GEMSA league and additional practices and tournaments/Provincials are at the discretion of the parents/coaches.
